We have two local Major League teams. The San Francisco Giants (National League), who play at SBC Park in San Francisco, and the Oakland Athletics (American League) who play at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland. The Athletics are better known as the "A's"

Many people cheer for both teams, which led to some confusion in 1989 when the Giants and A's faced off in the World Series.

OK, cool. Although I guess since I live closer to the Giants home ground, I will cheer for them, and the A's can be my emergency back-up team to cheer for. :)
