No, dear, this is not an example of mainstream Christian thought, and I thought after living with a Christian for 10 years, you might have a good idea about that. These are FUNDIES, and slapping a cross-brand on them does not make them followers of Jesus.

The biggest difference between fundies and "normal people" is that fundies relieve themselves of the need to react or learn from reality.

If you convince a normal person it is Gawd's will to never fight back and then hit him up side the head with a brick, the second time he either ducks or you end up eating a brick of his.

If you convince a fundie of the same, after the third or fourth brick you have a bleeding fundie laying on the sidewalk and crying out about why he's being persecuted for his beliefs...

...then trying to convince other fundies to join in because it's a good way to show how faithful they are!

Still, you have to respect the boneheaded attempt at living up to an (irrational) ideal. I mean, at least a true fundie doesn't have to deal with being considered a hypocrite within their own framework.

(The trick is to convince them to believe something useful and never let them learn otherwise...)

Remember Arbusto's % ratings are in the low 30's and dropping. This tells me that the types of people who would write this sort of drivel & thoughtless thinking are an even lower minority yet.

And I thank God that it is so. (& pray that the number drops even lower dramatically)
