I noticed this morning that I haven't posted in a while. This is mnostly due to the combination of being bloody exhausted and it being frelling cold. Today, I'm home sick with something I dearly hope isn't strep throat so in between hacking coughing fits and the shivers, I can bring some illumination to the current scene.
Work has gotten busy again. With the new year I'm seeing a number of new job sites show up on my daily pike, which slows me down since I have to find them and then figure out where my contact is for the boxes/pallets/strut. It gets really aggravating when I'm given a phone number that either goes to the company office (they rarely have clue what I'm talking about, some of these place are headquartered on the east coast!) or belongs to a man who is too damn busy to ever answer his cell. The other day I got to a site, and the company I was looking for was nowhere to be found. I called the number, and left a message. Asked around, nobody knew if they had a trailer or
conex on site. I waited the required fifteen minutes, parked in what I can only describe as a prominent location, left another message and rolled.
Six hours later, as I was getting ready to leave work, my phone rings. Not only does this guy not apologize for not getting back to me, he expects me to deliver it immediately! Ha.
The other highlight of the week was having to unload
2,000 feet of 20ft Unistrut Each piece weighed about 40lbs and was extremely awkward.
Kirsten and I had an incident that could have gotten really ugly. Luckily, I controlled my temper and things are calming down now.
I could go on about things like Bush's speech, the Giants re-signing Russ Ortiz, but frankly, I feel like shit and may go back to bed.
