Missed it by that much!
Today was an easy day at work, four jobs that flowed well (I never had to go back to the warehouse, which was nice.) The only problem was finding a place to flip a pod in Redwood City.
( What the hell do you mean, 'flipping a pod?' )
Back at the warehouse, I was asked if I wanted tomorrow off. Since I've been feeling a bit crappy for the last few days, I said yes. Hurray for me, a whole day off!
Came home, drank beer, and answered the phone. Oops.
Seems that two right-at-the-edge-of-our-service-area jobs that had fallen off the schedule had jumped back on, and they need me to work tomorrow. Since this was the Hayward manager calling me, I checked with my manager, and his first question was "did he leave you a message, or did you talk to him?"
Ah, well. From Fremont to San Juan Bautista is about 100 miles by truck, so I'll bring some good CDs and a lunch. J said that will be the only thing for me tomorrow.
