Each hole takes 45 minutes

While watching Sportscenter last night, they were doing a piece about the Masters in Augusta. Normally, I consider golf to be an un-sport, and a horrible waste of open land, but this time something made me giggle. On the leader board, tied for second and in third, were Weir and Garcia.

Of course, that's Mike Weir and Sergio Garcia, but it still made me sit up.

Bummer

It's one hour to first pitch at Pac Bell Park, game three of the Giants and Dodgers.

It's pouring rain, and we're getting thunder and lightning in the Sunset. A quick check of the local weather radar shows the majority of the Bay Area getting poured upon.

I don't think the game's going to happen.

What was the first record you owned? Probably Low Budget by The Kinks

Is there a song that reminds you most of your childhood? "Alice's Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie. I knew all the words by the time I was six.

If your life was a movie, what song would play over the following:
Opening credits: "Unforgiven" by Metallica
Love Scene: "High Enough" by The Damn Yankees
Driving scene that consists mostly of flashbacks and love lost: either "Tangled Up in Blue" by Bob Dylan, or "Black-Throated Wind" by Bob Weir.
Closing credits: "The End of the World as we Know It (and I Feel Fine)" by REM

If applicable, name a song or concert that moved you to tears: The 1986 Welcome back Jerry concert by the Grateful Dead in Oakland. Jerry was just back from a coma, and we were on our feet cheering. When they played "Candyman" and Jerry sang "hand me my old guitar/pass the whisky 'round/won't you tell, everybody you meet/that the Candyman's in town" I just lost it.

Name an album that is perfect all the way through - no filler, no bad stuff: Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon.

Music you like that could be considered a guilty pleasure: Sousa maybe?

If your music collection was about to go up in flames, which 5 CDs would you save?
1. Metallica - Garage, Inc.
2. The Who - Quadrophenia
3. The Grateful Dead - Dick's Picks Volume 6, Hartford Civic Center 10/14/83
4. Tom Smith - Tom Smith and his Digital Acoustic Compilation
5. Moxy Fruvous - Live Noise

Is there a song that describes you or a situation so well that you could have written it? "I'm Free" by The Who (written by Peter Townshend)

Which underrated artist deserves more attention? Tool.

Has a song or artist changed your life in any way? If so, how?. The Dead, by opening my eyes to what actual musicians could do, and introducing me to a culture where rebellion was the norm.

What is your favourite soundtrack? The Phantom of the Opera.

What is your all time favourite music video? "Everybody Hurts" - REM

Current favourite radio hit: Counting Crows cover of "Big Yellow Taxi".
