Happy Pride Day!

Kirsten and Rose went down to the parade, leaving me here to bumble around the house. I wouldn't have been any fun, what with a cold sore making it hard for me to eat or speak. So I'm tired, hungry *and* cranky. A new record!

So what to do? I think I'll go hit the mountain of books in the office, and see if there aren't a few that we can get rid of. Measure the office furniture in preparation for the change-over, and tape outlines on the floor.

Kirsten is still talking about DSL, but I'm worried about the cost. Ten years of being poor has given me a knee jerk reaction to the words "it's only a few hundred dollars." It is very odd to be in a position where we can both spend money rather freely, and still pay all the bills. Of course, we need to fix the driver's seat in the car, buy a new mattress and box spring, and a host of other things first.

I just found out that my best friend from childhood is getting married. Weird feeling when you realize that Bill was always the leader, and I've been married a decade already! I've been invited to the bachelor party, which will be amusing given that I don't drink, and am not overly interested in strippers these days. Oh well.

Ah, evolution in action.

Just seconds ago there was a loud collision in the intersection of 19th Avenue and Quintara. Naturally, I jumped up to see what was happening. Two cars, a BMW and a Lexus (possibly, hard to tell from this angle) tried to occupy the same space at the same time. It looked like one of them ran the light.

As I watched, the two drivers got out.. both on their cell phones.

From what I understand, many new insurance polices are now being written with "cell" clauses that specify that coverage ceases if you use a hands-on cell while driving. About time.

But anyway, I'm looking at about 100 grand worth of wreck, and the BMW isn't going *anywhere* under its own power. I hope they both are found at fault.
